Lightbulb Custom Switch Panel Install

So I got switches and a switch panel from OTRATTW for christmas, and I've been looking all over the truck for a place to mount the panel. Long story short I decided on the end piece/cap that is on the overhead rail system in my truck (04 xlt). Its going to take some work though. So away we go

The Panel

After some measuring and playing around with layout I made a template of the panel and marked around it with a sharpie. Then used a dremel to cut it out and cleaned it up with a file. (sorry no before pics).

The base on each of the clips was in the way so I cut out notches.
Side note: The raised + seen in the picture is actually dead center of the end piece, which helps when you only have one chance to get it right…

Keep in mind this is were the tricky fabrication comes into play due to the fact the end piece doesn't have a large enough surface to mount the panel flush. The plan is to fill the gap with pieces of plastic material or maybe acrylic. In the end it doesn't really matter because everything will be sanded smooth and painted black to match.

The rough fitment of the Panel.

Next step is to make templates to fill the gaps on the sides and go from there…

Still working on filling the gaps, but here's a picture of the mounting location to give you an idea.

Oh man! Thanks for that link! Been looking for these other than the sPod for Jeeps! Sweet. My lighting is underway once I can get some of those LED Light Cannon's at a decent price.

It's for Rigid dually lights I'll be mounting on the back of the truck for reverse/cargo lights...now I wouldn't really flip those on to **** off people who tailgate me, but I figured I'd have some fun with the switches hahaha

How are you planning on wiring everything up to those switches? May have to get a panel like this for my lights.

How did you get the thing off to cut the hole in the overhead console

There are 2 clips that hold it on. If you pop off the whole light assembly, you can then pop off that panel.
