Default cruise control

I'm having issues with my 2005 f150 FX4 cruise control. i checked every fuse i could possible think of and they are all good. i cant shift out of park without the brake being applied so i dont think that it is that brake sensor switch. any other ideas or suggestions?

Did you install LED taillights/third brake light? A common problem with some aftermarket LED taillight assemblies as well as just LED bulbs is that they do not have "load resisters", used by the cruise circuit to detect resistance when the brake is ON/OFF to enable/disable the cruise.

Also, check to see if you have a burned out brake light bulb (if you have the "standard" filiment type bulbs). If the brake light bulb is out, this too can disable the cruise from working.

How about the BPP switch. It sits on the front botton of your master cylinder its two wires. It brake pedal pressure when it senses enough pressure if disengages cruise control. Faily common failure.
