as long as you do it from the same point on the front and rear tire and fender it doesnt matter after all its only a reference point

On level ground, as mentioned above, measure from the top of the tire to the fender. If you want to be exact, put a floor jack under the front end and lift lift the front end untill its level. Also keep in mind there are variations in what the lift is and what you actually get after installation. There have been threads about this.

Thanks guys, I just measured from the top of the tire to the same point on the wheel well. It is about 2 1/4" diff so i will go with the 2". If i had a choice i'd rather it look a little low in the front than a little high.

or go 2.5" and get a add a leaf for the rear. This will still keep a rake on it plus give you better hauling capacity

What size tire are you trying to run?

I'm looking at 33's and a nice set of 18" crome rims but havent picked out anything yet. What you think?

I just had 2.5 put on my 04 xlt screw and it sits just a little low still in the front. I asked a local 4x4 shop in town and they put 3inch on the f150s there. Just from my experience and what I've heard.

Thats what i will do then. Les swhaub has done a ton of these so I will just get their input on either a 2" OR 2.5" Thanks guys

I am putting an HBS 2.5" leveling kit on this weekend. I bought this size because of all the threads I read on here about these kits and everyone said this one would make it level. I measured from the ground to the highest point on each of the fender flares and my front was 1.75" lower than the rear. I am curious to see if I actually get the full 2.5" or if possibly the coils will compress a little and make it sit level. If the front ends up a little higher, I'll just go get some 1" blocks for the rear. I'll have to get an alignment first and then check for level.
