Default Convert from 4x4 to 4x2

Hi Guys,
I have just bought my F150 Harley Davidson 4x4 but want to convert it to 2 wheel drive. Before anyone says ' just by a 2 wheel drive one' i would just say there are not many in the UK. Is there a kit i can buy?

Not that I know of...

Your truck is all-wheel drive, yes?

I suppose maybe a 2WD donor truck would be the way to go.

Why do you want to convert?

I dont need 4wd and i used to have a Lightning until i had kids and thought it would be quicker without the trans box and front diff due to there weight.
It already has a Roush super charger on it.
My thoughts are to get a tail shaft, case and prop from a 2wd then just remove trans box, front diff and drive shafts but not sure on the ecu side of things

As far as I know the 2WD and 4WD transmissions have different output shafts.

superchargers + 4wd = awesome launches. Crank boost, add water/methanol injection, go terrorize cars that think they're fast.

May be I should go to JDM and get a different pulley and tune

Stick with 4x4, you've got a severe traction advantage. That will negate any weight savings you would get. You'd have to change your front knuckles as well because you'd need a sealed hub. As far as the transmission, you'd need one from a 2wd, you can't just remove the transfer case and roll with it. You'd need a new dash trim piece to eliminate the switch and not have an awkward hole in the dash. You would also likely need a new drive shaft as I'm pretty sure the 4x4 driveshaft is a different length/spline than the 2wd.

That's a much better direction than trying to pull your truck apart.
Look around for a good water/methanol injection kit, as well. That stuff works really well with superchargers. Lowers intake air temps a lot, improves the engine's octane tolerance so you can run more timing and make more power.

Some guys inject a little bit into the supercharger to keep it from overheating with increased boost levels. Keep the rotors cool and they won't expand so much and eat themselves when you get addicted to smaller and smaller pulleys.

Keeping the detonation away is the key to a long boosted engine life.

I believe that there's a wiring mod that can be done to give you 2WD, but still have parasitic drag of the front diff gears, as the AWD doesn't have IWE's. I wonder if that is an option- to install the 4WD IWE setup also?
