Default Console gear shifter light

Do these trucks have a light for the gear shifter on the console? I mean lighting up the P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1 etc. I noticed mine is dark and hard to know what gear you're in at night other than by feel. Anyone else noticed this?

Oh yeah, there's a bulb in there. You have to lift off the cup holder section by the shifter....just give it a good yank and it'll come right up. The bulb is on the back of the shifter assembly, pointing into the gear selection plastic. Twist the housing counter clockwise and it comes right out. I replaced my bulb not too long ago.

I just took it apart and got the bulb. It doesn't look like its burned out but that doesn't mean anything. I'll pick up another one tomorrow and put it in as I'm sure it's as simple as that. Thanks yall

The bulb on my 07 was burned out according to the previous owner, he had it fixed by the dealership shortly before I bought it from him.

I wonder how much he ended up paying for that bulb, LOL!

Well, he said he brought it back in shortly after buying it and they fixed it for free, but they told him it would be $800 to replace the bulb that backlights the odometer/compass, which I promptly fixed for $1.89 and 15 minutes of my time thanks to this forum after buying it!

I replaced the bulb but it still doesn't seem to come on with the dash lights. Any suggestions?

Check for power in the bulb socket. Is there anything else out in the dash?

I'll have to check the power at the socket tonight after work. No other lights are out as far as I know but I haven't had this truck for but 1.5 weeks, so maybe something is out and I don't know it. I'll see what I can find.
