Hi all, I have a '06 xlt and where the odo. and outside temp is there is a line and no compass. Do all the 04 and newer 150's have this compass built in there? Another thing to add to the list of non working things on my truck?

 

Don't know if it's on every one or not, but AFAIK the controller is the box on the rearview mirror. If it has the box then it's probably broken or not configured right to work.

 

The temp sensor is located in front of the radiator vertical metal bar (right below the hood latch). If the sensor is bad (common), they cost about $30 to $40 bucks at your dealer.

The compass "box" is indeed behind the rear view mirror as stated from hcbph. Depending on the problem, it may be cheaper to buy a compass that has it's display built into the rear view mirror. I never understood why Foord put the compass display in the cluster....dumb design.

 

hi i had that problem as well. if you do three full circles in a parking lot this should recalibrate the compass and temp. hope this helps!

 

Driving in circles would recalibrate the compass, but would have nothing to do with the temperature readings working/not working.

Was this a cluster swap?
