I have a Rousch CAI. I like it a lot. Nice and clean looking in the engine bay. HP gain can't tell with butt-dyno.

For $125 go for it. You're gonna like it.

The debate is that you already have a "Cold air intake". The stock Ford setup has a snorkle that extends into the drivers side fender, which in turn draws in cool air from the front.

So, the aftermarket calls their setup "cold air intake" (CAI), yet many of them have an open air cleaner cone at the front of the truck by the radiator, and in turn draws in warm engine air.

Some have a shield that is supposed to seal against the hood, but it will still draw in warm engine air.

So why do folks buy them? Eye candy I suppose, and the misleading advertisement by the manufacturers that sell them.

Same reason that people buy anything - Marketing, and their belief, in this case mistaken, as to the benefits.

Many people are gullible and believe anything. Some aren't very bright. Some like to say "mine's bigger".

I've got one. No difference at all IMO. Maybe a little louder, that's it. Seems to be more aesthetic.

I have a used one in a box, gathering dust. Oil analysis show less air filter efficiency and it is annoyingly loud with no noticeable HP gain. Nothing to see here, move along!
