Default Cold Air Intake??

About that time for me to get a cold air intake for my 05 5.4. Need some help deciding between the k&n 57 series and the aFe stage 2. Pros? Cons? Trying to kick the HP up and (MPG would be nice but we're truck owners, we cant have both!)

Go with the Gotts mod, CAI's are not worth the money.

I have the K&N and I enjoy it. Only downfall is the filter is exposed to the elements. I wish I got one with a box around the filter, not the heat shield but more like the factory box. If/when you mud the filter can get dirty if you go deep.

My opinion, I like the GOTTS because it actually suck cool air in from the original opening.

GOTTS is the best answer - almost no $$$'s for the same results.
Check it out via search GOTTS Mod.

Then buy the programmer - you will have more money left to spend on it.

I have the Volant CAI and I love it. It is an enclosed box, and if you have the $$$ you can buy a scoop that takes in cold air from under the bumper, making it a true cold air intake system. A little pricey, but I have seen great gains, and about 1.5 mpg boost

I've got the K&N with the Edge and runs really strong on level 3. Only adjustment made was tire size 35's. My only issue with the K&N is the filter refuses to stay on. I've actually been running her without the filter since September or October.

I have the K&N filter in the stock box and then GOTTS from there. Filter stays inplace.
