First step at this point would be to check the crank endplay. If that's good pop of the valve cover bank one and look at the phaser and a couple of the cam caps and make sure the cam caps aren't worn beyond saving. If the cam caps are ok, then order timing parts (stick with Ford parts) and a melling hv oil pump.
Drop the oil pan and clean it out if there are any missing chain guides pieces because they will be clogging up the pickup screen.
For reference how many years of experience do you have and what makes you sure it's mechanical issues such as the timing system when other technicians even the ford dealerships swear up and down its electrical and computer software issues with the vehicle and that i have to update the computers?

There's alot i could say but less is more.... that being said all mechanics and techs know generation has nothing to do with
1) DTC codes
2) Repairing and trouble shooting a vehicle

Matt Wolfe,

There are a couple of indications that may be real problems here
Low oil pressure at higher rpm is generally a clogged oil pump pick up screen.
Overheating, in this case, is likely caused by friction due to lack of oil to bearings

You need to drop the pan and do an inspection. Note that debris in the oil pump pickup screen can be hard to spot since it falls to the bottom of the "cup" shaped area below the suction area and then get sucked up against the screen when the engine is running.
