I'm unsure NOW whether it has one or not with fake news RockAuto listing one for the truck. TYPO or not, may still be a good (inexpensive) move if he can find one on there.

Although I have _NEVER_ been able to get my "Volumetric Efficiency" formula in Torque Pro to work correctly. Formulas get hairy sensitive when most elements are on orders of negative six to ten power. (( I believe this --- relates somehow --- to the signal output from the Charge Motion Control Valve that I have been trying for some time to unravel.)) I still haven't figured THAT out: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/f150tor...-valve-432520/

Yeah, I been through that 1 as well. Seems the tech at the FORD dealership routed the vacuum line wrong along with the harness for the knock sensors which jammed up the linkages and burnt the imrc up. I spent 8,600.00 on a new engine and the install was . .....well, not very professional. I had to re route all the wiring and hoses back to their original location myself. After 3 trips back to Ford, I realized they knew less than myself, or At least the folks working on my truck anyway

So, during the diagnosis that led me to the imrc, I'd learned a little on its function along the way.
I know you like Torque Pro, which I use as well however, for diagnosis and service I prefer Forscan. According to Forscan, the IMRC is either on or off. It draws (if memory serves) 5Volts when off and zero when on (however that works). It didnt seem to "modulate" at all. It opens fully anytime I accelerate or have to maintain speed traveling uphill. It stays closed at idle or when traveling at a steady speed.

I commanded it to stay open all the time to see what effect it had on performance and, it seemed to run better.....but only a very small difference was noticed. I know ford says it creates vacuum (venturi effect I suppose) at lower rpms or when closed and increases air flow. That did not correlate with my MAF readings for volume as I had better flow with it open regardless of rpm or speed. So, I have wondered if it would be beneficial to bypass it altogether? I would assume the logic for such a modification would need incorporation in the form of a tune? I dunno, but it fascinates me how the whole thing works!

Default OFF TOPIC! -- Maybe -- but is it?

IMRC / MAF ?? Related - yes, second cousing thrice removed.

Sounds like you would have been a good contributor to the discussion in the above referenced thread.

The location and type of MAP is irrelevant
Simply follow the pinpoint tests for code P0106 and that will direct you
