Default Cluster Mods?

Im aware of the color change mod for clusters. I did it to my 02 and I don't want to go through that again!! So anybody have any other ideas for mods to a King Ranch/Lariat cluster? Anybody ever change the lights to a specific color of LED that could over power the green tint? If you do red you should get orange right? LOL Was also thinking about some small Ford Oval decals on the face on the bottom of the speedo on each side so I don't cover any warning lights? Anybody got any ideas?

The green is a film that can be removed. There are some old threads about it if you search. Some guys have removed the film and changed everything to blue.

I watched on another forum where a guy tried, nothing seems to fully overpower the green tint. Also, if you choose a different color, your needles don't really show up at all.

My cluster is more of a true green as I have 5000k LEDs. The factory yellowish green is gone.

Don't be like me and get a little too curious. I ruined my original cluster, ha.

I might have to try going with a brighter LED to take away some of the yellow. I was afraid nothing would overpower the tint. What did you do to your cluster?

Also forgot to add... Damnit Ford when my truck was made 9 years ago colored bulbs/LEDs were very available. Why you have to go and put a tint on the cluster face?

Took it apart one too many times (curiosity). Broke a stepper motor that drives the tach. Went to replace but messed up the board.

That's the only reason I switched clusters. My XL cluster had a tach, tpms, etc. all I need.

Lol that sucks. I took my cluster out of my 02 and removed the tint. Not something I care to do again lol.

Fully understand! I don't want you or anyone else to go through what I did!

Try some 5000k LEDs. Probably the easiest, it'll get rid of the yellow and give you more of a true green.

You'll need brighter ones for the backlights and slightly dimmer ones for the turn signals, high beams, odometer, etc. The flashers, high beam indicater and odometer will blind you at night if you stick something too bright in there.
