Default cleaned throttle body

Today I tackled my 4.6 throttle body. It was pretty simple. This is what it looked like before hand. 113k miles mostly highway. I reused the old gasket. Noticeable response difference already. Cost me 4$ for the cleaner and 45mins

Oh yeah. definitely improved my throttle response. I'm gonna wait a week or so to measure my gas mileage and then post that up. Honestly, it's an easy job. If you can change your oil, you can do this

Sounds simple I'll have to do that this weekend my trucks been roughing a little rough at idle and I cleaned the iac last week and that made it run better but there's still a little shake at start up

I didn't see that on mine, lol. Make sure to use Throttle Body cleaner, not Carb cleaner or anything else. I used a soft rag and a soft toothbrush. You'll be fine.

Pretty interesting...My Acura has coolant lines running through the throttle body with the idea of keeping the body hot enough to keep crap from forming. So you can't completely remove it unless you want to deal with the coolant lines. However, there is enough slack to clean. At 75000 miles, it was basically brand new on the inside, almost no crap. On to the Ford. I noticed from my F150 shop manual, it doesn't have coolant lines to deal with...So when I tackle it in a couple of weeks, should be interesting to see if there is any buildup...Acura coolant pass thru vs Ford special coating...

I cleaned mine right after i bought my truck while i was doing the gotts mod it had about 68k miles on it and it was pretty dirty as well. Also while i had everything off i also completly cleaned out the intake tube and box where the air filter sits. I was amazed at all the gunk that built up inside of the air box.
