So i was changing my buddys oil for him and i find this! Im pretty sure i know the damage but can someone reassure me.

Sludgalicious! Keep the filter on and drain the oil. Refil with some cheap oil. Empty that oil and change the filter. Put in some mobile 1 syntec and call it a day.

Wait so it just sludge? Not water or anti freeze??

What kind of vehicle. Our jetta has always looked like that but it never loses coolant. Sometimes it's just the nature of the motor. Could also be condensation if he does lots of short trips.




Scratch that. Since this is posted in the Gen 11 forum. Let's hope it's condensation....

Tell him to keep an eye on it. Watch the coolent level. But if it is coolant, you should see some in the drain oil.

If he does short trips, it could just be condensation from not letting the oil heat up enough. Keep an eye on it but I wouldn't think its a head gasket yet.

This is the inside of the anti freeze tank. Low and orangey looking. A bunch of stuff build on the side above the anti freeze level. Need some advice! Thanks

The walls always get dirty/slimed.. But... Do you have a lot of little particles in suspension that are floating in the coolant?
