Pull the code. Autozone or Advance should do it for free.

My 04 5.4L has done the same for the last two days aswell. The first day i didn't let the engine warm up and drove out out in a hurry as i was late for work and it was -13c outside. That afternoon i allowed the engine a couple of mins to warm up and no misfire, but the cel was still up.

But for some strange reason this afternoon the cel was gone and just as i dropped if off a the Ford dealership for a service and diagnostic check. I will get it back tomorrow afternoon so i will let you know what they find.

There's no real benefit to upgraded COPs since our plugs aren't gappable.

Well i took my 04 f150 to the dealer with the same issues and they ended up finding a fault with the coil on no.3 cyclinder. As i was also unsure of the age of the plugs i had them changed as well.

I have had no issues since that day, so hopefully it will remain this way.

Good luck with your truck Brett
