Default Change in lights

Im looking to put some offroad lights behing my grille and would like to have the wired to the same switch for my headlights. Is there any way to do this and not screw anything up. Im looking at a set of Hella's and they come with a rocker switch but I would really rather have the ran to the same switch. Any help is good, Thanks

i wouldn't do it that way, i would run a relay off the battery to a separate switch in the cab, if you start to run aftermarket lights off the stock system you can cause all kinds of issues these trucks are very picky about things like voltages, besides that's quite a bit of watts to expect from the stock wiring...

I have mine wired to a relay that comes on with my high beams. All you need to do is find which wire is activated in the headlight harness when the high beams are on and hook the relay "ON" to that.

I wouldnt rely on the stock wires to run the lights I was just wondering if there was a way that I could wire them so that when the headlights come on they other lights would as well. I am running an after market dvd player and when I wired the adapter harness I was able to take a seperate wire and run it to my radar detector so that when the ignition on my radio comes on the radar does as well. Thats the kind of thing that I am lookin for. Not for the power to be ran through the stock wires and switch but just for it to turn the relay on instead of having seperate switches

^ thats what I said....

here's a diagram on how I did it. Disregard the switch in cab if you don't want to be able to turn them on seperatly.

Nope. I'm running two 100w lights off one 30a relay and two 55w lights off a different 30a relay, all triggered by the drivers side highbeam wire. No problems since installing them in May
