The day my engine messed up on me, the **** came OFF the gear shift shaft exposing the little white piece that the spring sits in and it goes down in to the metal rod. After having to have an engine put in, I got the truck back last week and I am needing that white plastic piece as well as the **** itself. My question is this. I have found the **** on Amazon, no problem. However, the white piece broke off sometime while it was gone to the shop so now I have to replace it as well. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to take the center console apart exposing the gear shift assembly but what part or part number do I need to be looking for to replace just this piece? I called a ford dealership and he looked it up and gave me a price on both of $111.00 but didn't give me the part number. Has anyone ever run into this before?

 

Junk yard ... pick apart.. then you can practice on removal on their truck too.

 

The place Where I bought the engine is getting in a 2005 this week and he told me to come get what I needed. Just wasn't sure. Guess I have to take my tools.
