Just baught this radio and am looking for a place to mount it. I have a 2004 lariat with the newer body style. I was thinking on the dash but any ideas would be great.

Do a search on "CB". There is an older post with pics on where folks with CB's mounted them. Most went with the "under seat" style' with the functions in the mic.

The antenna was also an issue for good clearance and signal strength, which was also addressed in this post.

I think that i am going to put it on the dash where the little black tray type deal is up there. But now i dont know how to get the wires where they need to go.

That's where I put mine. Just make sure the radio isn't going to be too wide. I purposefully had to get the smaller version so it would fit. Here's my thread with pics.

Red (power) and black (ground)???

Ground the black lead and connect the red wire to a "switched" (ignition on) power lead, or to the cigarette power lead for power all the time.

A simple test probe from your local parts store will help you find a pwer lead.
