shops will cut 'em off in michigan here, like others said cash and no receipt.

$30K Federal fine if you or the shop are caught; does not matter what your state or local cops say/do.

And if a dealer (or you) sell the vehicle with the cats removed, you are liable for a $5K fine. It's against the law to sell a vehicle with any Federal mandated emmisions equipment removed.

You'll gain no real power; just noise. A sure cop attention meter for sure.

Dang bucko that $30k fines got me worried now. I can see myself ordering a set of high flow cats in the near future.

That's how I'd do it if I needed every last drop of power....money can be spent better in other areas though.

The only reason folks (I hope) remove the cats is to create noise.

i got an off road mid-pipe cause it makes the exhaust smell better

after the vehicle has over 100k the cats are nearing the end of their life anyway, then they will just hurt performance and economy.
