Default Cargo light stays on.

My cargo light has been staying on when I park the car and leave it. It will stay on overnight unless I turn the instrument lights all the way down.

I have tried checking fuses 6 and 24 and both are good. Any suggestions on what else to do would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the dial for brightness and cargo/dome light operation on your headlight switch is wore out.

Well the dial works as it should though, but the cargo light is always on.

Do your interior lights stay on as well? If so sounds like a cluster issue

Sort of... When I turn the rear dome lights on to the door position they stay on, no door ajar light on the console. The front map lights are burnt out and I am in the process of replacing them (just bought the car).

Sounds like you have a door ajar sensor shorted out. I would start there.

I thought the same originally from looking on here. I sprayed all the doors with WD-40. I do not have the door ajar light on inside though, and the car locks normally like it would with the doors closed (one honk instead of two if a door was open). I could replace the sensor, the only thing is I don't know which door it is.

I would be interested to know, I have a similar issue, my interiors come on and go off while vehicle is on or off. I know the door sensors are fine as I have no door ajar on my read out or chimes like there is if the door is open. I have read else where that it could be the instrument cluster. How is that related to interior lights? I do have other symptoms though.

My airbag light was flickering on and off as I drove. Like a bad wire, but as the LED for the light is part of the cluster I found that odd. It would give me the airbag warning light is burnt out chime until I replaced the front sensor. Now the airbag light does not work. Also in the winter if I do not hook the seat belt BEFORE I start the truck it will give belt minder chimes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine ended up being one of the doors. I never got the light in the panel but I sprayed all the doors and after soaking overnight it worked!

I had this issue a few months ago and it was the plug that goes into the top of the cluster. I unhooked it, sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner, put it back together and haven't had a problem since.
