Default can I downshift using the overdrive button

2004 f-150 fx4. Does it hurt anything to use the overdrive button to downshift, like coming off an exit ramp and downshift to slow down a little, not from any higher than 60-65?

Probably not. But thats what brakes are for. I would rather replace brake pads and rotors than transmission parts.

I've done it for years in both of my 05's only cause I'm too lazy to hit the brake lol. No known issues to report.

Sure, these transmissions handle a lot worse than a simple power-off 4-3 downshift.

Hell, I have my transmission locked out of overdrive almost all the time I'm not going over 40.
Also, I want more gears.
