Default Camshaft Position Sensor Trouble codes

I have a 2005 5.4 XLT 4WD. I have 2 codes which are P0340 and P0344. I replaced both sensors and codes are still popping up, I cleared them to and they came right back. Please respond if you have any information on what could be the cause. Thank you.

I don’t believe the timing has ever been replaced or checked from the previous owner. And I don’t know any symptoms because the codes have been on the truck sense I bought the truck. And truck has 280,000 miles, she’s old but I really good running truck.

And by “Timing job” are you referring to the timing chain?

Yes, well all of the timing components. Chains, tensioners, guides, phasers, cvt solenoids. Common problem on these trucks it is a pretty involved job. With those miles I would probably look into a reman engine. But to diagnose it you need a scan tool to see if timing is actually off then take off the front cover to see exactly what happened.
