Default Cam Shaft Pos Sensor...Of Course

Hi all!
I just registered on this site 5 minutes ago looking for answers for my mom's truck. Luckily, this site is exactly like my350z.com so navigating is a breeze.
So she's got an 07 F150 XLT 5.4L. Problem is she had the dummy light come on, turned out it was the code for Camshaft Position Sensor bank 1. Replaced it, but the light continues to stay on even after clearing. I clear it and it comes back a few days later.
Now I know these generic codes are troublesome just because one can pop up and it would be something different than what the code says. I believe that may be the case here.
I'm only familiar with the VQ engines in Nissans, not at all with these (day and night difference). Can anyone guide me on this?

First off - we need codes instead of your own diagnosis of what it means. If you are going to diagnose it, you don't need forum help. Importantly, there is no cam position 'sensor' code.

I suspect you are referring to P0340 or P0345. In either ease, a search by the code number will produce tons of confusion because they are the ABSOLUTE worst described trouble codes. You might start reading here:
