I did it but it didn't help. My buddy thinks I have a bad catallic convertor. The stuff mine does when at 40-60 mph is what his was doing before he replaced one.

Good luck figuring it out. Are you getting any codes at all? I couple of months ago, I got a cat code, used seafoam in the gas, good to go, no code. Never had any issues when it thru the code, just rush hour traffic.

This sounds similar to what I'm currently troubleshooting with 05 f150 5.4. It's hesitant when I accelerate, shudders when I decelerate, say when taking a highway off ramp, and occasionally stalls. The weird thing is that I'm getting no codes. I'm thinking it might be the sensor in the throttle body, but I'm not sure it's not the spark plugs, and I don't think it's engine sludge. It sounds really bad though.

Well if your having the same trouble I am then its not your throttle body. I replaced it and it didn't help at all. I hate how computerized everything is now a days.

Except for the fact that it will tell you what's wrong with your truck. What led you to believe you needed all those new parts? Sounds like you are just throwing parts at it.

Cause I got a diagnostic ran and they said my cam phaser on the passenger side was bad so I replaced them both and the timing components with them. Which is a good thing I did cause the passenger side timing chain you could pick up off the phaser with no effort since the tensioner was bad on it. I didn't do it for no reason but it still didn't fix my major issue.

Well after i put a cold air intake on the rough idle went away so after all the timing components, cold air intake she was running great but some people will have the tick for 100,000 miles no prob but mine wasnt just the tick, it was rough idle and less power.
