I don't mean to sound harsh, but do a search. There is far too much information to dish out. If nothing else, read this thread. It's long but has tons of good info throughout it.

Default Phasers ain't that big a deal.

Had a ticky 2004 in Sept. 2011. Had the phasers replaced, just the top end. Timing chain and guides were not messed with. 73850. 99500 now, still running strong. Make sure you are using the Motorcraft 820S and the 20W oil.

That attachment really is going to help. Me and my buddy are gonna replace the phasers chains gears valve gaskets and all my plugs coil packs and wires next weekend in his shop. He's done phasers before and I haven't that's why I'm trying to get other inputs. Every garage and dealership I go to say replace engine but I just don't think that's neccessary. I appreciate halls help. I'll let y'all know how it goes when we do it. I've been running the OEM filter and stayed with 5-w20 but idk what they guy before me ran it.

Put brand new cam phasers, tensioners, tensioner guides, chains, crankshaft sprockets, and camshaft sensors, as soon i was done started it up, let it idle for bout a half hour and then took for a test drive at operating temp and it still did the samething and i dont have the money for a new motor. cant figure this out and its driving me crazy cause i just dropped 1500 dollars in those parts from ford. Its like it wants to stall sometimes when im at 30 to 60 mph but only for a split second then sometimes at idle drops down real low motor shakes and knocks, i feather the gas and it fixes it for a short time but will do it again at another stop light or something. idk what else to do. can anyone help?

Could be the battery relearn process. It will probably take a couple of days to get the ecu to relearn itself. Of you can search here for the battery relearn process sticky and do that, it may help. Mine stalled and idled low for about a week, only stalled 3 or 4 times but it took a few days to even out.

I replaced cam phasers, all timing components, all lash adjusters and followers. I did all the lash adjusters and followers because I didn't want to have to go back in there later and good thing that I did because I found 13 bad lash adjusters. I did have to take my VCT solenoids back out and clean them but that was easy. Been running strong since early summer with about 5000 miles on it since repair.

Look at the battery relearn process in the "Look here first" thread on the 2004-2008 homepage. Take it through that process and you should be good. Like I said, I stalled a couple times and had a low idle a couple of times, it all cleared up. Let us know if it persists or gets worse.
