Default Cam phaser replacement

I have 2006 f150 with a 5.4 and i was told i need a new cam phasers and timing chain with 270,000 miles and I have seen some on ebay for less than 200 dollars without the oil pump, has anyone had luck with these, I will buying a melling oil pump

Don't do it. Use only ford phasers. Any thing else seems to end in a sad story of having to repeat the job before too long.

Anything less than OEM with the timing system is asking for trouble. Dorman parts have failed with as little as 5-10K miles and god knows what they’re selling on ebay. Melling pumps are great but in all honesty, your OEM pump is probably fine. Most people change it as a peace of mind item since they have the front of the engine already tore down.
