Default CAI suggestions

I have noticed a lot of folks on here have the AirRaid CAI. I myself am partial to K&N. What are some recommendations? Has anyone tried the JLT Ram Air intake?

The AirRaid with the box looks really nice. I personally did the gotts mod w/ a K&N dropin but if i was going to get a CAI i would go w/ AirRaid

i would have to say.. steer clear of the CAI unless you have a programmer, if you dont just do the gotts mod. you'll just be wasting your money and running lean if you get a CAI with no programmer

Pretty much this, and personally I couldn't ever see someone paying more than 150 or so for a SRAI/CAI. These intake kits are nothing more than a bigger inlet with a fancy filter. They give you little to no gains for a price that could equally be spent on a programmer. Go cheap or go with something else in this department because it's not really worth it in my honest opinion.

Amen! Look in the k&n booklets they have and see... 4.6l gains 7hp ( if that) from a k&n filter... With a $350 intake kit from k&n you get a massive 9hp sounds pretty f&$(ed up too me..... Spend your money on something else...

Dare I say to search on "CAI"? I will get attacked for doing so, but this topic is one of about 7 that get asked every month.

Besides, it is a valid response, as you will get to read about a hundred other responses, then you can decide which CAI is good for you.

This post now adds an additional 7 entries to this topic when the search is used!

Bucko I wouldn't say you are going to get attacked for saying try the search. I posted this back in January when I was new to the site and looking for a quick response, basically being lazy. Just today it popped back to the top. Since this post I have put on the gotts mod.
Thanks to everyone for their input on the CAI though
