CAI question
Looking at the K&N setup how ever wanted to check here before buy to see what's the recommend CAI setup for the 2008 F-150 5.4L and what can I expect in performance and fuel increases.
Don't waste the time with the K&N. If you're looking for real power gains and mileage you'll be disappointed. Most of the improvement is throttle feel and not actual numbers until higher rpms. The K&N also uses an oiled filter that has less filtration efficiency than the stock dry filter. These trucks also run nearly lean from the factory and it is highly recommended to get a tune with a CAI as they change the MAF environment. Look into the Gotts Mod.

The tune was my next question as I had to on my 06 GT. Thanks
After reading some previous posts in regards to CAI I'm now leaning towards keeping it stock. No real gains, noise and tune needed. Not really wanting a caned tune (SCT) and dyno tune is more than I want to spend right now. Thanks for the responses....

Yep the tune would be something IMO worth doing and skip the CAI. I had the CAI on my 06 mustang with the SCT tune and really didn't see or feel much now with the stang being a manual it's really limited on what differences you'll see versus an auto.... reason I'm giving the tune and CAI a second look.

Didn't notice any gains anywhere. Went back stock.
