Default Which CAI to Go with?

Looking to get a cold air intake for my 06 5.4L. I did the gotts mod on my truck and didnt seem to improve throttle response even in the higher rpm's. I have read up about this and I am kind of between the K&N and the Roush! I know both these units are not going to produce a huge change but I am just looking for something more than what I got from the Gotts mod. If anyone has any input or comments on which unit to go with it would be greatly appreciated. I know they will cause the truck to run lean so will be purchasing a tuner in the near future but I figured the Roush intake would have less of a chance of throwing engine codes due to running too lean. Thanks in advance for any info on the matter!

AIRAID is another brand you might want to check; popular on the Corvette/Cadillac CTS-V forums.

They have a fitment for the F-150 and it runs about $350.

I run an AFE stage II with my 2006 FX4 5.4L and love it. I have never seen a code in the year Ive had the truck (doesnt mean truck is running lean). The thing I notice most is the sound. It is very deep and noticeable. For me it sounds good. I ordered a tune from PHP for my Edge to get the better use from it but I am glad I got it.

K&N on mine for 3 years now not a problem and great sound. But I'm sure all of those mentioned are great brands and intakes as well!

x2 on AIRAID. I think it's what I am getting on my truck when I pull the trigger.

I have heard alot of horror stories about k&n so I am scared to put one on my truck, but also alot of great things. So its a tough choice.

X2 on the Volant.... It's Great, and has a mean sounding drone when your above 2000rpm... The truck definitely pulls harder in comparison to the gotts mod I had before... My intake air temps are 1 degree higher then ambient air temp when cruising at 30 mph and higher..... You can't get much better then that!
I run it with the edge cs tow tune no lean conditions here... I got a custom tune coming soon from PHP to squeeze more power out of my mods...
