Default bumper guard/ push bars

I am thinking about putting a bumper guard / push bar (what ever you call them) to protect the front end of my truck.

Does anyone have some pictures of them installed?
Any brands that allow you to keep the factory tow hooks in place?
how do they work when you have to put up the hood?
Do they really protect the front end during a front end crash?
any pictures of them after a crash?
what is the best place to get one?

I've got a full front replacement on my '06 made by Frontier. I think the ones made out of pipe like Ranchhands, etc. are too heavy for a half-ton. We have to worry about hitting deer around here which is why I have it. They can help in VERY minor car wrecks. But, if a woman in a Ford Tempo cuts across traffic and pulls in front of you while you are going 50 mph, it is extremely possible to total her car and still really mess up your truck (and bumper). Trust me on that one.

Honestly, I don't remember how much it was. Maybe around $600-$700. I bought it from a place in Cedar Park, but I won't buy from them again (long story). You can probably get on from B&H or just about any truck outfitter around here. I live in your area, just up the road in Round Rock.

ok that is about the only push bar ive ever seen that actually looks like it would prevent damage to the front of your truck....... that thing is sweeeeeeeet. but anyother tupe are very flimsy and can cause mordamage to the rest of the front of your truck espeacially if it only attaches to the bumper
