Do you offroad? Most bull bars eliminate your tow hooks.

Would a Bull-bar be able to act as a tow hook?

I say no bull-bar for aesthetics and less weight up front.

Never tried it my self, but there are a few post like this on here:

Some one was stuck in the mud, and what does he do....he wraps the tow strap around the bull bar, and give the stuck truck a tug, bends the bull bar completly straight out. So now it looks like a luggage rack mounted on the front. Of course he pulled it off, but was P##Sed off cuz he f###ed up his bull bar. I told him, its your own stupid fault.
Thats why I will never put a bull bar on, cuz you have to remove the tow hooks. Whereas with a grille guard, you can reinstall the tow hooks.

Moral of the story....dont pull anything stuck, out, with a bull bar.

Your truck is similar to mine, check out my garage to see Westin Ultimate Bull Bar. These are really more for looks though, it's not that they aren't strong enough to take a good hit, but there is no place to mount these bars on the truck so that they can take a good hit.

And as to the comment about the weight when I received the package in the mail. The bolts and mounting plates were the heaviest part of the package the bars are surprisingly light.

Aries Bull bar; Black with Stainless Steel skid plate.
Looks pretty tight, but my truck is kind of the opposite colour of yours.

I personally wouldn't tow from it...

MY buddy has the Westin bull nose... looks okay but he rear ended a Camry and dented the crap out of the bull nose. Not a scratch on the Camry!!! I laughed my ***** off when he told me.

The nose kind like pics posted, sure. But the cheap chrome full cattle guards, NO NO NO NO NO! They are ugly and are not functional at all and a pain to work under the hood with them. If you have a legitimate reason to have one, like running into stuff alot (cattle, hence the name) get a real one, a Ranch hand that mounts to the frame. They actually work. Still ugly, but at least functional if you need it. But from the looks of your truck i doubt you run any cattle.

Actually most bull bars have tow hooks built into the bottom on them so you don't loose hook locations.
