(BSM) Test ??????
We have a 2004 Lariat 5.4L Triton SuperCrew cab. A few days ago I went to mve the truck after sitting a day and the battery was so low it would not start. I jumped it off so my wife could get where she needed and when she went to start it agan it would not start.
She went to the autopart store and they said it possibly had a bad ground because it was pulling power from somewhere when he disconnected the ground.
I hooked up a test light between the ground cable and the battery post. The light was flickering (and a clicking sound) until I removed #6 fuse, for the "park lamps, BSM, instrument panel illumination". The light would burn steady then ( and sounded like the BSM was humming a bit).
I then started removing more fuses until I got to #107 (power door locks BSM) and then the light went out completely.
I would think there would be a LITTLE draw (very dim light), unless these two fuses completely power the BSM, which is very possible.
Is there a way to test the BSM, which I located behind the rear seat drivers side.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
