Default Broken tube?

I’ve been looking for my ac drain tube, as I’m not getting any leakage under the truck with the ac running. I thought it might be this hose, and when taking a closer look realized it was broken.

Anyone know what this hose is? If it’s not the drain tube, does anyone have a picture of where it is? I’ve read the descriptions but just can’t picture it.

thanks in advance.

Broken section. passenger side.

Bottom of hose.

The A/C drain is on the firewall right behind the dipstick tube. you can also see it from the passenger side floorboard when you pull back the carpet.

Thanks, the ‘seeing it from the floorboard’ really helped. Now I know exactly where to look.

You are welcome. There's a TSB on the A/C drain to install an elbow on the drain exit to prevent blow back into the cab. (wet carpet)

I ran into that, going to order one.
The drain was a total pain to find, but finally found it buried under insulation. Think I got it cleaned out. Was a great opportunity to get my six year old daughter to help. She got to “lift the truck”.

The rubber elbow is a pretty big pita to install. I did mine last year and for me it required moving the dipstick tube so I could get my hand in there. Also required heating up the rubber elbow and installing with Vaseline it was so tight.

moving the dipstick caused it to leak because the o-ring had no more give in it, so just a heads up if you end up having to move the dipstick tube, might want to have an o-ring ready to go.
oh and that metal tube you were asking about... I think that's a vent tube for the transmission, but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the info. I remember whoever posted said they had to boil the elbow first. I'll get one and just hold on to it until I see the the tube is blocked again, or if I have to mess around that part of the car.
