Default break noise, light grinding

so when i hit the breaks with the windows down i hear a rotating scratching/ grinding noise. obviously im aware that the rotor does turn and contact the pads, lol, but its a new sound ive never heard before, im going to pull the pass. front wheel tonight and try to see if anything is out of place, the rotors don't look like they are getting gouged via pebble between pad and rotor etc. it does sound like its the front pass side... i have about 35k miles on original breaks, i suppose they could be changed soon... who knows guys, thanks! just venting... oh the vacuum solenoid thing wouldn't be the problem right?

Could be a bad pad. Look through the view widow on the top of the caliper with the wheel off and see how much pad is left.

My originals were completely gone in the rear around 35,000mi or so. Heard them squeekin. Not into the rotor. Not expected driving on flat terrain and not pulling a trailer very often. Just thought I would mention it so your not surprised if you end up with the same result. Fronts were fine but changed them at the same time to eliminate the dust.

well, like "JD" said, 36,000 miles and the original front brakes are gone, passenger rotor is shot, inside pad on passenger side is totally gone and its metal on metal, the backside of the rotor is shot, all chewed up! soooooooooo, looks like im putting pads and rotors on this weekend, i finally wont have the "dusty fronts" anymore. (dusty front rims) thats a big plus!

Won't be too spendy. $50.00 for the pads and you can get the rotors turned...

Took me an hour to do it, my 2 year old son was my "big helper" so I went slower than normal, but it wasn't bad at all and my son got his hands dirty too, he is all boy
