Braking Issues
Hello everyone, I have been having an issue with my 04 150. I thought I had a warped rotor so I replaced the front brakes and rotors and that did not fix the issue.
When applying the brake, it sounds and fells like a warped rotor, but no pulsation in the pedal, truck just shakes a little and feels like a flat spot on tire.
It only does it when applying the brakes. Could it be the rear brakes causing this?

YES! I had the same problem with my 04 F-150 when I purchased it second-hand, changed the fronts assuming they were warped, turned out the REAR discs were warped. So much that the pedal would seem a bit low due to the piston being pushed in more than normal.
New discs and Akebono Pro ACT pads (ceramic, very little dust and stop great), and zero vibes/pulsation.

This is a common problem with Ford Trucks. I get calls all the time from Ford Truck owners looking to replace and upgrade their rotors because of the warping issues. Replace your rear rotors and you should be good to go. Check out our products at www.sp-performance.com.
