Post brake light

My brake lights will not come on unless I depress the brake pedal completly. the lights will come on Intermittently while engaging the pedal. While approaching a stop light or sign, and slightly depressing the brake pedal, the lights are not coming on and traffice approaching from the rear can not tell I am slowing down. While at a complete stop I must hold the pedal to the floor basically to keep the lights on.

Is there a pedal adjustment that can be done? Sensor repalcement?

Any ideas?

I don't think there is an adjustment. Have a look under the dash. Follow the brake pedal up and you will see the brake pedal position switch. as soon as brake pedal breaks contact with the switch it should turn on lights. make sure the switch isn't sticky or connection loose.

Default Thanks

Thanks Kobi...as soon as it warms up a bit I will be there...I disconnected the switch (or a switch attached to the pedal) last night and ensured it was making a good connection. That doesn't mean it is not bad.

I have schematic that shows one more switch that I will check too this morning.

Thanks again. God Bless!
