Blower motor help
My blower motor stopped working the other day and it worked fine till I unplugged my boat trailer or atleast thats when I think it stopped. While driving it comes on once and awhile but if I shut it off it does not work again. Must confess I did pressure wash the motor but everything was still working I have been through the fuses a bunch of times but they all look great and even swapped to make sure. Now I just dont know what else it could be and its a 05 triton f150.
Any help would really be great cause I am lost. Thanks Pete J

Are you talking about the AC cabin fan or the engine radiator fan? Some people call them both blower motors.
If its the cab fan does it work in any speed? If yes only on high speed then replace the blower motor resister, if no on any speed then disconnect the fan connector and with the key on and fan speed on high check what voltage is present at the two wires.

Got the blower motor out and hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it does not spin. I just took out 2 prong plug and hooked it up to ground and positive but no spin. Did I hook up right or did I do it wrong?

Have not checked wires yet cause my brother has my multimeter and he lives 180 miles away. Maybe I can get one at harbor freight or will one of those simple things that light up that look like a screw driver that has a wire hanging out of it work?
This is one of those situations where because you bench tested the fan and it didnt turn on when voltage was applied we know the fan is bad, however before I buy a new fan I would want to check that voltage is getting to the fan from the vehicle, just to make sure there is not a second problem.
Since you already own one multimeter I agree that you should just go buy one of the crappy harbor freight ones, they work fine for basic diag. What you are talking about that looks like a screw driver with a wire hanging out is called a test light, they are useful for diag but in this case I want to know the actual voltage which normal test lights do not do. Make sure to check voltage when its on all the different fan speeds, voltage should rise as the fan speed rises.

I will go get a multimeter and let you know what the voltage is and I did notice that the fan or blower seemed to not be blowing like it was suppose to. Some times turbo some times it just seemed slow. I did know what the test light was called but I just had a moment of ultra slow brain time
.Again thanks for your help and as soon as I mossy on over to harbor freight I will pass the info on
