Default Blacked Out Emblems!

So I was going to do my rocker panels today, but it was just to dang hot!! So i did my emblems! The rear was a b**** to get off but alot of sweat later, here they are! I used Krylon Fusion Flat Black, a couple coats of clear coat, 3 coats Niteshade, and 2 more coats clear coat. What do you think??

It looks sweet man! One of the best jobs I've seen on here. I like how the "Ford" looks smoked. And for the record...it takes a lot for me to compliment a steelers fan, haha.

I never thought of smoking the "Ford" part on the emblems when I did mine. Next time I'm at the junk yard I might pick a couple of old emblems up and give it a shot. Here's my normally blacked out ones.

Thanks guys!! When i originally finished they looked like your zmadams (which is what i originally was going for, the nice black clean look). Then i thought...i cant put chrome back on my truck when i worked to get rid of it all, so i nervously pushed on with the niteshade, and i LOVE IT!

How did you keep the letters clean? Just tape over them?

Yah, i used frog tape and a razor blade to edge along the ridges the FORD leaves. Just have patience . Oh and I took the frog tape off after letting the Krylon Fusion paint dry for about 15 minutes, then continued with the rest of the process.

I'm not a big fan of messing with the Ford blue but it looks better than most emblem mods I've seen.
