Which is the better flowmaster series, the 50 series or the 40 series? I was also trying to decide where to bring the tips out. idk what would look best.

50 will be the quieter of the two. Depends what u want. Single or dual outlet?

yep like jerrybizzle said, 50 is quieter. it depends on what sound you are going for. 40 is deeper and louder when you get on it and 50 will sound good but wont get that deep throaty sound when you punch it. i have a super 44 and i love it because i wanted a loud sound when i want to have fun but yet idling and highway is still fairly quiet

Flowmaster uses baffled internals which reduces gas velocities but increases resonance (drone). Gives you a nice headache on the highway. Plus most of them are galvanized steel which will rust if you are anywhere near salt or snow. Go with a straight-through muffler for less drone and much higher gas velocities for better performance. I switched from a slowmaster super44 to Borla and will never ever go back.

I also had a flowmaster 40 series and switched to a straight through dynomax bullet. I have a comparison thread if interested. The bullet is deeper and louder, not to mention cheaper.
