Default Best mileage

This is on an 06 4x4 with 35" mts and stock 3.55 ls gears, coming up on 100k miles on the 4.6L engine. After an hour and change trip on the highway, averaging 70 - 75 mph. Kept rpms under 2000 most of the time. Keep in mind, that is 18.2 mpg AVG

I get 13 at 75mph as well with 33" tires. and around 15 at 55-60mph sounds too good to be true.

12.67, pretty good huh? Granted that is only city driving and I have 35's.

Not to say I don't understand where you're coming from, but this is for real. Last full tank highway driving I got 16 and change mpg, hand calculated. This pic was taken just when I got off the highway. Most of the trip was 70 something mph, the last 10 miles or so was 60 something. Mileage just steadily (slowly) increased over the duration of the trip. The difference of what gear you hold it in makes a huge difference - I get about 13 mpg at 2200 rpm and about 16 at 1800

^ The Edge simply uses a logarithm that figures mileage. It's usually optimisic in its estimate. This is why you've had the suggestion to calculate it by hand. It's a far better method by hand using the same pump every time to calculate mileage. If you're getting the same results by hand, then kudos.

With my new tires 305/70/17 and even previous 33x12.50x17 I have to shift at 2700-3000 rpm to avoid a slipping feeling, also feel that jerking, not enough power feeling going 60-70 in 5th gear, have to downshift to get it moving. Probably kills my mpg.
