soo I know others and I have posted about this before but for some reason the bed on my scab (6.5 foot) shakes when ever I am going down the road. no one I talk to knows what it is causing the problem but you can feel it through out the truck. I've heard of ford selling some dampening kit for 500$ don't want todo that. does anyone know what this could be?

also my emergency brake will stick at times and won't release fully. thanks

 

1. Check the bolts holding the bed in place and make sure they are tight

2. Grease your cable so that it doesn't get stuck anywhere. It runs along the frame on the driver side of our trucks

 

Bed movement is normal over rough roads however I have never felt it. Are you sure its the bed moving? As someone said it could be loose bolts.
It can almost be a number of other things, including the cabin itself which site on liquid mounts.

 

Check your u bolts also I thought my bed was loose ended up being my ubolts

 

my bed shakes too, not all the time and when it does, it's only from 58-62mph.......... i had the tires re-balanced. gonna try rotating the tires next. OP what tires are you on and how many miles?

 

Our vehicles will see a degree of flex, although it's not nearly as bad as what you'd find on an open C-channel frame like the Tundra.

 

I've noticed this on mine too. It's not a big shake, more like a vibration. I can see the rear corners in my rear view moving up and down when I'm on the road. Looks like they're bouncing up and down a quarter inch or so. Don't know what it is, but I don't worry about it.

 

ya exactly it's not like the bed is moving because the frame is flexing because at low speeds you can flex the truck and you won't see the bed move at all but at higher speeds when you hit small bumps in the road you see the corners of the bed shake in the mirror and I have Firestone destination at's with only like 8k on them

 

So I've heard this is because of where the shocks are mounted closer to the wheels therefore impact caused the corners to shake.

 

Just put some weight back there. Either a toolbox, or what made mine go away was the weight of my tonneau cover.
