Default Battery light still on after changes.

2006 F150 XLT so far I have changed the alternator, ,battery, the 3 wire plug to the alternator, the main line and fuse to the alternator from battery and I installed new battery terminals.
Also did the PCM memory reset all voltages are spot-on the truck runs fine starts fine but the battery light will not go off any ideas or suggestions I have searched and searched on all the forms and online and changed out everything possible could think of?

Are you using a multi-meter to check the voltages or do you have a scanner that can show live data? If the multi-meter shows good and the scanner data shows low then somewhere from the alternator to the on board computer the data is being lost. Unfortunately not really sure what to do at that point but at least that will help to narrow the problem down.

Default common problem with non oem alt.

The sensing of the pcm doesn't seem to like non mc alt . There are some fusible links near the alt that also may give you this trouble .
Your battery volts with a digital meter should be over 14 volts when charging . I understand the pcm controls the alternator . I wish I knew more details .

What type of alternator did you install? These trucks are picky about substandard voltage regulators. Obviously motorcraft is the best route to go as it will have a motorcraft regulator. I can personally suggest a Napa brand as they're manufactured by BBB industries. Very few have caused problems where the alt has had to be warrantied. I can't speak for the other big box stores, but it seems a lot of value line electrical parts cause problems.

I had to go through 3 alternators to get my battery light to go off. My 04 called for a 130 amp but ended up going with a MC rebuild 110 amp. Voltage regulator could have something to do with it. My truck ran and charged fine just like yours but the light drove me crazy
