Default Battery Clamp Bolt

I was cleaning my battery's negative terminal and in the process I over loosened the clamp's nut and it separated from the bolt.

Now I can't get it back on. It just won't catch the grooves and start tightening. I checked and both pieces are in good shape. Is there some special way of doing this? I get the feeling I shouldn't have taken the nut all the way off.

Did you try putting the nut and bolt on the clamp before putting it on the terminal?

Default Broken battery terminal bolt/nut

I was working on my truck today putting on a led bullbar combo kit. When I went to connect the wires to the terminal and must’ve cross threaded it and the bolt broke inside the nut. I can’t seem to find one laying around that’s that specific size. If anybody has any helpful ideas it’d be much appreciated because my truck won’t start unless those terminals are tight on the posts. Thanks in advance!
