Does F11 still blow if the climate control is switched to OFF?
Yes, as soon as I turn the engine over it instantly pops. Possible bad IWE solenoid?

Ugh. Running out of fuses. Unplugged IWE solenoid and replaced #11 fuse. Popped on start.

Again... I didn't ask about starting it. I specifically asked if if blows when the AC (climate control) is turned to OFF (and the ignition switch is turned to RUN, not START).

You have to answer the questions that are asked. Answers that are either ambiguous or non-answers are not useful.

Nothing was asked about the ignition being in Run. Only if the climate control was turned off. But no, it only blows when the key is turned over to start.

That doesn't make any sense since that fuse doesn't feed the ignition switch or anything activated when the ignition switch is in the START position.

I’m guessing you don’t have very good people skills.
Anyhoo, it looks like there’s a short somewhere in the wiring between the A/C clutch and the relay. As soon as I turn the engine over to start, it automatically actuates the AC button on the console. Which would make sense why the fuse pops when the engine is turned over to start, as the clutch obviously can’t be activated when the engine isn’t running. I’ll chase wires later. It’s a monster of a wiring harness. All else fails, I’ll run new wiring from the relay to the A/C clutch.

I save those for people who pay attention. Otherwise, too old to care.

Most expedient way to get it going again.

That’s cute.

I just found out an old friend of mine had the same issue with his 2008. Apparently his was grounding out up by the ECM. Cut out the bad and wire connector repaired the rest. Easy fix.
I’ll check the same are in mine hopefully tomorrow. See if I’ve got the same problem area he did.
