Backspacing???
I'm running a new set of 285-70R17 on stock 17's no clearance issues at all. I want to get a new set of rims and I'm trying to understand back spacing a little better. I want to get a set of rims that move my tires out a little. What is +\-. I understand the concept just not what moves it I nor out.
With that being said and if you plan on staying with the 33s, you can get away with running -12 offset which equates to 4.5 bs. For nine inch wide wheels a +35 will keep it similar to stock. So anything less than that will push them out some. If you ever plan on a suspension lift they usually require 4.5 inches bs. Similar to stock specs will allow largest tire fitment with just a level.
I'm running 35's with a zero offset, 9" wide, 20" rim... That's a 4.5 inch backspace, AKA zero offset... It fits a 35 x 12.5 r20" tire with a 2.5 level perfect.. No rub, even off road. The tires stick out past the fenders about a half inch or so.
Thanks for the info gentlemen... Now I just need to decide what rims to buy! Suggestions? Here's a picture of the truck as it sits now, the last couple were climbing a tree in my front yard, just some background info I wanted 35's but sliced 2 and the largest anyone had in stock for immediate install were the 33"...

I like the way your setup is now Especial...If I didnt want a lifted truck, I would have exactly what you did. Nicely chosen.
