that is what I was considering. can you actually see a hitch back there or is it out of view? I'm thinking a new handle may be the way I go. I'm wanting to do PTM handles on my doors so I may order them and a PTM tailgate handle with camera hole and replace them all at the same time. But that will have to wait until after Christmas so the ole lady doesn't fuss too much since I will have to buy them then pay to have them painted black. I also want to get my truck buffed to try to take out some of the minor scratches. The paint shop has quoted me $200 to buff the entire truck and $40 to paint and install each handle.

I bought my pops the emblem camera set up for Xmas. I think it looks down more than the others but we shall see. I bought it most for when he hooks up a trailer. But also because it looks stock. I will keep you updated once we install it in January.

I believe you could see a hitch with how it is set up. I haven't had one on since I installed the camera. I'll check and report back soon.

Well I got the backup camera and head unit installed yesterday however I'm not satisfied with the location on the factory tailgate handle. It doesn't show anywhere close to the hitch for hooking up to trailers. It's only shows about 4 ft and beyond. Ordered a new tailgate handle though with the camera mounting hole from ebay today though to hopefully fix the issue.

I went with the license plate mounted one. I made two small tabs to set it up a little higher so it isn't blocking any of my plate. I don't need to give cops a reason to pull me over.

So you drilled your OEM handle out to put the camera in? I would get the camera-ready handle, like you said, since it is pointed down in that direction.

Forgot I took this picture after my install. This is what my $15 eBay camera sees with the tailgate handle with camera hole. I think the cam was a little crooked at the time, that's why the parking spaces lines look skewed.

Would you happen to be able to share a link or information to the camera and emblem setup?

TIA.

[QUOTE="acdiecast;3162929"]Forgot I took this picture after my install. This is what my $15 eBay camera sees with the tailgate handle with camera hole. I think the cam was a little crooked at the time, that's why the parking spaces lines look skewed. [/QUOTE. I just purchase one of those cameras as well. I know exactly how to wire it, I was just wondering where the easiest spot to pass the RCA cable through. I trying to get in through the driver side channel where I will connect the reverse trigger wire. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks I have a 2004 super cab fx4
