These trucks are just too big to be fuel efficient. Since I work from home I don't put huge amounts of miles being put on my truck weekly.
If I had to commute to work daily, I'd find me a well used inexpensive car that is good on gas. I wouldn't care what it looked like as long as it started every morning.

You sound like you want to keep it but are put off by the price of returning it to stock.
