Default Back with Ford in a 2008 Screw!

After a long hiatus I am about to purchase a 2008 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 6.5 foot bed. Been missing Ford trucks for a while and have owned a couple Dodge trucks since then. Was back in the market and came across this nice 2008 with black leather interior, 5.4 motor, and only 56k miles. You dont see many standard bed Screw's out there I dont think.

Anything I should look over considering it is a 2008 with the 5.4? It has been a Florida truck all its life so I should not find any rust hopefully. Build date is 10/07.

Welcome back! Ford is the only way to go in my book but I agree! I have the 5.5 ft bed.. would be nice to have found the 6.5 but for my day to day, it's not a huge deal. It's a hit and miss with everyone here with the 5.4 motor.. so far I'm on my second 05 f150 with the 5.4 and I love it. I do hear a lot of the "problems" were solved right at the 07 models. But again, I think every truck experiences different issues, which a lot depends on how you take care of it.
Post some pics when you get it!

Thanks man! I will post some pics tomorrow hopefully when the deal is sealed. I used to be on Ford Truck World and F150online for many years before joining this forum. Looks like this is another great resource!

Engine build date should be located on a sticker on the passenger side valve cover...or look at your COP boot's and see what color they are...brown or black. This will tell you if you have the re-designed heads or not...

What ^ said. I to have an 08 (build date 04/08) Lariat with the 6.5' bed. I wanted the extra length for the ice fishing gear. So far the only issue I have is an intermittent problem with the back up sensors. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Still trying to troubleshoot then damn thing.
