spline count on the front? spline count is for the rear only. for the front you need a 8.8 gear set reverse cut and the rear is 31 spline count, all f150's from 97+ with a 8.8" rear end have 31 spline. i assume your truck has a 4.6 correct? otherwise you would have a 9.75" rear with the 5.4

 

Does this apply to the pinion gear aswell?
