Default Audio Questions

I have an 05 SCrew with the base system and i was looking to upgrade the speakers and run them off of the stock HU...
I was hoping to get some opinions on speakers... Should i go for components like these: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R152...ures_and_specs

or should i just get 2/3/4 way speakers like these:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R168...82.html?tp=105
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KFC6...PS.html?tp=105
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA6...=detailed_info

Remember, I am going to run off of stock HU, no amp..
Thanks in advance for your opinions and help!

if they arent blown, then i'd highly suggest adding a 4 channel amp to the stock speakers. Think about it....you are giving the stock speakers about 5 watts of power currently. You go to upgrade those stock speakers which usually like to have at least 25-50 watts rms power to them...but what are you giving them? 5 watts. Yes installing speakers is simpler and easier then installing an amp...but simpler doesnt always mean better.

Get a 4 channel amp, with a built in crossover, and you're ears will be thanking you. Later down the road if you even want better sound...just replace the front speakes and leave the rears stock, but just turn the gains down on them since rears are only for ambiance anyway

actually most replacement speakers start at 2 watts RMS.... and with a sensitivity rating of around 90dB.... would work well with stock HU... ya?

my opinion is still youd get better sound with a 4 channel amp....and if money is tight...get a 2 channel amp to run the fronts, leave the rears nthe stock headunit, and just fade towards the front till the rears are just barely noticable. thats the best bang for your buck.

I bought a set at PEP Boys (forgot the brand name, but they were a common brand (I.E. Pioneer, etc)....direct replacement with built in tweeters. Much better over the stock speakers.
