Default Anyone else have this problem?

The plastic cowl cover between the front windshield and hood was fading in the sun really bad. Kinda started to fade to a bluish grey color. So I took them off and hit them with some paint. Let me know what you guys think. I thought they turned out decent.

Turned out great. There have bee several posts on cowl issues, one being that the black fades, another being that the two cowl pieces pop apart at the center (there's a TSB out on that).

If your bed cover trim pieces fade, use some black Krylon Fusion paint on them too (the top pieces). Just be sure to use some prep cleaner to assist in paint adhesion.

How did the rubber end seals fair with your cowl pieces? These usually rot, and cannot be purchased seperately.

I've been wondering about the center of the two pieces poping apart. And I've noticed it on other F-150's, so I knew it wasn't just mine. What can you do about that!? Also, I had one of the rubber pieces fall off in this whole process. I just took a little silicone ahesive and stuck it back on. Seems to be fine now. We'll see though.

As far as the cowl, on mine where the two pieces lock together was the issue. they wouldn't stay connected so I put a screw in the plastic. everything has been fine for 6 months.

Now that I looked and took this picture

I see that the black anodized screw is rusting. I need to fix the fix
